Yay for you for telling that little story on your Mum and also helping to save a house from burning down. I once was boiling eggs on the stove and forgot to turn them off before I left home. Luckily husband came to have lunch with us at a nearby restaurant and drove home and turned them off....just before they exploded all over the kitchen..!
