Well, I think you have done as well as possible, making a liveable situation out of a really stinky one. Having Ned's parents support, while unnecessary, is at least a measure of understanding. When you say "opportunistic drunken rapist" I can only assume they were adult charges (more than one?) that stopped short of an actual rape (the attempted sexual battery charge), but came awfully close. OR, what is more likely, the victim was also drunk (or had issues of some sort) and that fact made prosecution difficult and they settled on the plea. It still makes him a dirtbag. Target range? Ok, maybe not a pedophile, but I still wouldn't want him near my child. SIL is in a state of denial, and I guess that's her problem and I hope it doesn't bite her in the ass. Doesn't speak well for her judgment, but you've alluded to her issues, too. I think his problems are alcohol related and you would think he'd be on his "best behavior" with all this scrutiny. Anyway, that you will be hyper-vigilant is probably an understatement and I know you'll be keeping a close eye on Biba and Ned will be keeping a close eye on both of you, so all is good. Relax, canoe, the beach, the pool, have a great time!! Lastly, congratulations on that BLUEBERRY!!! Don't let anybody or anything ruin your hard earned vacation!! XOXO :)

Hi Fifi, I think you are doing really well to keep all of this in utter control. I would do the same, it's really what all good parents should do, and you're definitely a brilliant parent. I feel sorry for your SIL too; it seems she is really messed up, when she could fix her own problems and could have found a better guy. But well, there's nothing you individually can do for her. Instead you have to put up with this danger. It's a lot of stress, but I'm sure you will manage it perfectly. As an aside, thanks for your note on my writing! I don't write poetry, but if you say so I might give it a try and see what I can come up with. :) XOXO!!

Wow, look what happens when I don't check up on you for a week. It sounds like you are in control of the situation and might I add an excellent mother. I have worked with kids that would have loved to have parents that cared half as much as you do. Oh and by the way... yes I do adore and appreciate the insight you and swimmmy provide!!!! :)
