Politics never make good conversation. That is unless both individuals agree with the topic or are on the same political side. You are right, it does always seem to turn into a personal attack. Makes me wonder why? I mean, people can argue over chocolate vs. vanilla ice cream without it turning ugly!

Amish pointer? I like that!!! How could you NOT warm up to the humor in that? I always try to stay professional when I am doing a presentation, but rarely pull it off. It's that darn obnoxious streak! As far as politics, if there is something that needs to be said, I'll say it, but usually defer to "to each, his/her own". My brother, in particular, is usually just waiting for me to say something that he can jump on and then claim I started it, but I've gotten rather good at avoiding it all. I do like a good argument every once in a while, but most are a waste of time and prove nothing positive. I think I'd like to sit in on one of your presentations, but doubt I could do so without laughing during your jokes... XO :)

Fifi, have you ever heard of "The Affairs of Gidget"? The part about the book with a Gossip Girl flavor got me thinking... My mom sometimes finds really old paperbacks in antique shops and anywhere else, really. And I believed you have mentioned liking old material of this sort. :)
