That happens to me all the time. Mostly in the summer. Usually I am just overcome with guilt at not updating or being boring so I force myself to say something. That's probably not good advice tho... :)

Yes, I've had my ruts. I used to think I HAD to update every day, almost like an obligation. I don't anymore - feel I have to, that is. I write if I have something to say. Pictures sometimes when I don't, but if nothing's clicking, I remind myself I have lots of other stuff that needs to be done. Usually when something feels like it is something I NEED to do, it's getting more like work than fun, and none of us need more of that. So, relax, do something else for a while and that should give you something to share with us here. You have NEVER been boring, Fifi, so don't worry about it. I'll continue to look forward to your entries, with interest! :)

When I get into a diary rut, it's because I have imposed 'rules' on my writing. The story so far gives you an implicit "it's supposed to be about X..." feeling. In reality, when I have suffered these writers blocks in the past, people have told me it doesn't matter if things change over time, nor if you occasionally reveal yourself to be human, by writing about breakfast cereal or something. It can't all be 100% hilarious all the time, nor 100% dramatic, nor even some blend of qualities that adds up to 100%. A lot of folks would probably prefer that you stayed in circulation, even if it's only with the occasional "I aitent dead" message. (Me among them.) Keep blogging... you may strike a rich seam any day!

I've gone through that frequently, it is so frustrating. But I agree with Man from Venus that it's due to expecting the writing to be of a certain quality (for me). Most of the time I don't know what to do either, or I just use paper writing and not diaryland. That's maybe why I hate my paper diaries! :) Most of the diaries I read, I read out of interest in the persona and not the aesthetics of the writing per se, so I should know better. Most of the time I just give myself a break and just wait for the muses to come chat somewhere I can overhear them. ;) Kisses!

Happens all the time to me. There are days when I just sit here and think the well has run dry. And then.....I see something stupid - and I am right back in the saddle.
