I agree with you, at least in terms of the commercialism of Christmas. Stuff in stores in October! I can't stand it. It becomes less and less of a religious holiday every year. I'm glad that you and Biba have your own traditions. I'm sure Biba will carry them on to her own children a generation from now. :)

Well, no, you don't sound smug and self-righteous to me. I don't understand the Xmas tradtions, but it seems to me if what you are doing brings a bit more joy and happiness into the world without hurting anyone, then that is the very best sort of tradition - certainly as opposed to the Xmas hoopla that made every December in the U.S. a misery for me and my family
